Potus in the Park

President Obama is using Prospect Park as a Marine One landing field tomorrow- fantastic and wonderful- and the park will be closed from 12-6.

Just saying it jars. How do you close the park? It’s so big! Thinking of all of the busted gates up Flatbush and the wooded areas there is it even possible? And just saying that it closed, doesn’t that make you want to go in? to see the spectacle of it!

Well, as a responsible and law abiding citizen I’ll stay away, but I will be dreaming of men in black coats and sunglasses and my mind will ruminate on the idea of the park as a secured area.

My block in Prospect Lefferts Garden won honorable mention in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Greenest Block contest this year. This month the asters came out all over the place – this one actually growing out of the concrete. I love how it has been incorporated into the cultivated garden.
